St-Germain Elderflower Meadow

Based on a hand-drawn concept sketch, the Bednark team worked with my direction to create a 70’ x 45’ floating garden meadow. In order to achieve the organic look, I started with a structure made from standard rigging box truss to create a grid frame. We incorporated welded umbrella-shaped structures within the box truss and then rolled seamed chain link fencing over the top. The base structure was then covered with 3500 sqft of live wheatgrass and live plants, and covered on the underside with dried flowers that were tied into a smaller grid system. The garden meadow was lifted overhead using 12 chain motors, integrated into the frame with traditional rigging.
