Working closely with a set designer, the team and I developed a way to achieve complex curves and large architectural forms for a photoshoot set. In addition, we were asked to design a functional reflecting pool to capture the reflections of the curved architectural structures. Part of the challenge was to engineer a waterfall infinity pool mechanism behind the water tank to pump 400 gallons per hour, while maintaining a glasslike effect on the pool’s surface. To achieve this, I had to develop a series of baffles that decreased the water’s turbulence.
